We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power Electronics Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in
the design, testing, and validation of DC-DC converter systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on
expertise in SMPS topologies, inrush and transient protection, e-fuse integration, and thermal reliability,
with a strong foundation in technical documentation for engineering reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development
Design and develop various DC-DC converter topologies (buck, boost, flyback, push-pull, forward) for
embedded and industrial systems.
Implement and validate protection strategies including inrush current limiting, transient voltage
suppression, and electronic fuses.
Select appropriate power components considering electrical, thermal, and derating criteria to ensure
system reliability.
Perform thermal simulations and stress analyses to evaluate worst-case conditions.
Validation and Testing
Support schematic development and collaborate with layout teams for EMI/thermal compliance and
safety standards.
Validate and debug power converter prototypes using oscilloscopes, isolation probes, electronic loads,
and power analyzers.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration into larger systems.
Documentation
Prepare detailed design documentation including block diagrams, trade studies, derating analysis, and
component justification.
Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICD) for subsystem alignment.
Generate reports and technical presentations for Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR).
Document simulation outcomes, lab results, and validation test summaries in compliance with
engineering and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics Engineering.
2-3 years of experience in power electronics development with a focus on DC-DC converters.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of SMPS operation and DC-DC converter design.
Practical experience with inrush control, transient protection, and e-fuse circuitry.
Proficiency in simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, Simulink, or PLECS.
Skilled in using lab instruments for power testing and measurement.
Familiar with thermal modeling and component stress/derating methodologies.
Experience producing engineering documentation aligned with aerospace/industrial standards.
Technical Skills
Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or defense power systems.
Familiarity with standards such as MIL-STD, DO-160, or IEC.
Knowledge of digital power control and embedded firmware integration is a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proactive and collaborative, able to work independently or within a cross-disciplinary team.
