Extreme ownership of all aspects of electrical hardware development, from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and integration
Responsible for the core avionics of spacecrafts, including digital and analog systems.
Develop system and component requirements, interfaces, and ensure subsystem harness compliance to spacecraft requirements.
Build and maintain spacecraft budgets including power, communication, instrumentation channel allocations, etc.
Work with inter-disciplinary and cross functional teams to determine solutions for thermal and environmental management, electrical interfaces, system integration and environmental tests at both subsystem and spacecraft level
Support system-level hardware-in-the-loop development and test
Support component level and integrated test and operations to verify performance w.r.t specifications
Close collaboration with spacecraft thermal engineering to dissipate generated heat
Verification and qualification of designs to spacecraft environment
Validate integration through development of hardware in the loop simulator.
Participate and get approvals for electrical configurations in internal design reviews
Qualification:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, aerospace engineering or equivalent
6+ years of working experience with avionics system design and model-based systems engineering
Excellent understanding of principals of electronics and electrical engineering across various disciplines
Experience:
Experience performing trade-off studies and sensitivity studies to determine preferred electrical design features and functionality
Experience with high-level design and operational understanding of electronic components (power supplies, embedded systems, RF and digital systems)
Conceptual understanding of key spacecraft subsystems and their associated components, including attitude determination and control, spacecraft electrical power systems, space-ground communications, on-orbit command and data handling, and thermal control
Experience in the QA processes including hardware and software verification and validation process for avionics systems
Experience in industry standard root cause corrective analysis techniques, such as fault tree and fishbone analysis
Experience developing and maintaining detailed multi-tier schedules and program-level budgets is desirable
Experience with environmental testing, radiation, thermal cycling, TVAC, vibration, shock, etc.
Experience with circuit design and simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout
Experience in industry standard root cause corrective analysis techniques, such as fault tree and fishbone analysis
Experience developing and maintaining detailed multi-tier schedules and program-level budgets.
